When people say “it’s not all men”, I point to something like this. I know without a doubt that there are good men out there, but at the end of the day, we still have to protect ourselves from “all men” because how will we know? It’s not written on their foreheads. 😩
Where we are as a society when half the population lives in perpetual fear of the other, is such a sad sad thing😪
She threw out her 'skimpy' outfit, used little to no makeup, and still got violated. Sometimes that's the one thing we forget: Beasts don't live by codes. That's exactly why they are called beasts. Anyone that does not have respect for human dignity has thrown away the one thing that makes them human.
it was never ever about the dress or the looks. a creep’s intention to violate an innocent soul isn't persuaded by modesty…a vile person is vile regardless.
I recently read that in 80% of rape cases. The abuser is often with someone you know. And this genuinely scares me for the many people who continuously have to live in fear of being raped
even scarier is the thought of how many people live with the fear of speaking up because they know what happens to those who do. it’s a sad, sad reality.

plusssss the way the narrative has been shifted to “protecting ourselves” rather than holding these me accountable will forever burn my soul.
it’s exhausting living in survival mode all the time in a society where everyone’s supposed to feel safe.💔

This is very nuanced and well written, and as Ella mentioned some girls have gone through this it’s really sad what today’s society has become.
the gag is that it’ll keep being this way. no amount of advocacy will bring absolute change, and i’m not even being pessimistic
It's a shame that this is someone's reality.
this was me every few moments while compiling this. it really is pathetic
